A Toronto Blue Jays prospect who's been gaining more attention is 19-year-old JoJo Parker. Parker was drafted No. 8 overall in the 2025 draft.
The left-handed shortstop is batting .286 with four doubles, seven RBI and an OBP of .444 across eight games with Dunedin. He's transformed his game following initial struggles, pointing to his resiliency in his professional career.
He's found his rhythm, recording an OPS of .947 across his last four games. Parker is ranked second among Blue Jays prospects and has been demonstrating clutch hitting with high velocities (100 mph+).
Parker's surge peaked on Sunday, when he went 3-for-4 with a double, four RBI, a walk and a stolen base. The youngster has recorded a hit in six consecutive games.
Significant time was spent on recruiting Parker compared to other prospects. He's a high-upside prospect who offers versatility, as he can also play second and third base.
But the intrigue level with Parker is his offensive impact, which comes from seeing the ball well and solid plate discipline. With multi-hit games and his determined hustle, the Blue Jays drafted a well-rounded player.
It will be exciting to watch Parker make his way through the minors and one day make his MLB debut with the Blue Jays.
