The Toronto Blue Jays are on a heater at the right time. They not only swept the New York Yankees in four games to take the division lead, but they also beat the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, extending their AL East lead to two games over both the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.

Toronto won 4-3 in 10 innings, with the game ending on an Ernie Clement sacrifice bunt. Angels reliever Sam Bachman committed a throwing error to first, allowing Myles Straw to score the winning run from second base.

The Blue Jays are now on a six-game win streak, the highest in baseball. However, they announced an injury before Saturday's Angels rematch via their social media.

The team put right-handed pitcher Yimi García on the 15-day IL with a left ankle sprain and recalled fellow right-hander Robinson Piña from Triple-A. It also activated the latter hurler for Saturday's game.

Garcia is 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA over 22 appearances this season. The 34-year-old also has three saves out of seven opportunities and six holds.

Meanwhile, Piña's only MLB outing thus far was for the Miami Marlins on June 20. The 26-year-old allowed one run in one inning against the Atlanta Braves.

Right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer (0-0, 4.85 ERA) will start for Toronto on Saturday against Los Angeles right-hander Jack Kochanowicz (3-8, 5.44 ERA). The game will start at 3:07 p.m. EST at the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays will play the Angels again on Sunday before traveling to face the Chicago White Sox and Athletics.
