Blue Jays select Noah Palmese 412th overall

The Toronto Blue Jays have selected their fair share of college pitchers in the 2025 MLB draft.

In the 14th round, they selected Noah Palmese out of Webber International University. Webber International is the third school the 21-year-old has pitched for. He started his career at Daytona State College in 2023, before transferring to Erskine College for the 2024 season. Finally, he transferred to Webber, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school.

Last season, he finished with a 3.38 ERA in 21 appearances, or 37.1 innings pitched. The 21-year-old struck out 36.2% of the batters he faced while walking just 5.9% of batters. Thanks to his strong performance, Palmese was named the NAIA reliever of the year for the 2025 season.

With Erskine College in 2024, Palmese had an 8.41 ERA in 46 innings pitched, with a 19.7 K% and 14.5 BB%, so there’s a high variance between the two schools. As for his stuff, Palmese features a fastball that sits in the low 90s but touches 95 mph. The righty also features a sinker, a slider, and a splitter. 

For rounds 11-20, the slot value is $150,000 without it counting against the general bonus pool; anything over will dig into that pool. That said, the assumption is that Palmese will be well under the $150,000 slot value. If signed, expect Palmese to begin his career either with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays or the Dunedin Blue Jays.
