The Toronto Blue Jays have signed a trio of players in international free agency recently.
Two of them are official. Back in June, Jeff Duda reported that the Jays signed Cayro Hazel, with the move becoming official on Wednesday. According to Francys Romero, the bonus sits at $80,000. The other official signing is Venezuelan outfielder Orangel Guanaguaney, who’ll turn 18 years old later this month.

There’s a signing that is yet to be made official as well, as Twitter user Nolan (@NWints30) reports that the Jays have signed Taiwanese pitcher Cai-Chen Long to a reported bonus of $260,000.
BREAKING: Blue Jays to sign amateur Taiwanese pitcher Cai-Chen Long to a ~260K IFA deal. By my count this is the first deal from the Jays given to a Taiwanese amateur since 2003. Long has touched 93 on the fastball, great late pickup here.

Guanaguaney has the least information out there. His MiLB profile lists him as 5’11”, 176 lbs and he’s a left-handed batting outfielder from Maturin, Venezuela. He played in a summer tournament earlier this season and slashed .190/.346/.238 with a double. There’s no information about his bonus, nor a readily available scouting report.
Hazel is listed as a shortstop, though Romero notes he’s a utility player. The Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands product played his 2026 season in Honkbal Hoofdklasse for the Hoofddorp Pioniers. The 18-year-old slashed .281/.388/.404 with five doubles and a triple in 67 plate appearances. Last season, he slashed .266/.343/.319 with three doubles and a triple in 108 plate appearances.
The Dutchman is listed a 6’5”, 154 lbs and bats right-handed. Romero notes he’s more of a contact hitter than a power hitter.
The Toronto Blue Jays have officially signed Cayro Hazel, a utility player from Netherlands . Bonus deal: $80,000.

Lastly, Cai-Chen Long (also goes by Cheng-Lung Tsai) is a right hander from Taiwan and touches 93 mph with his heater, according to Nolan. From this Threads post, the 18-year-old also features a curveball and changeup. At the recent U18 Asian Baseball Championship, Tsai appeared in two games and struck out seven over four innings of work.
As it stands, the Blue Jays have around $750,000 in bonus pool money left after accounting for Tsai’s signing. This period ends on December 15th.
