Brave: Ronald Acuña Jr. launches homer for Gwinnett Stripers

The Braves lost another frustrating game last night, thanks to a bullpen that’s fit for a team that’s rebuilding, not one that’s trying to win a World Series. But in some good news, Ronald Acuña Jr. did launch another home run yesterday, his second in four games and first with the Gwinnett Stripers.

Acuña would come to the plate five times on the evening. He walked the other four times, bringing his OPS with the Stripers to a whopping 1.917.

This was his third consecutive night in the lineup, serving as the club’s DH on Saturday night. In the previous two, he played six innings the field. To this point in his rehab assignment, he has not yet played a full game in all facets. That’s likely the last box on his check list before returning to Atlanta, which should happen over the next few days.

That May 23rd return for Ronald Acuña Jr. at Truist Park makes too much sense.
