Braves announce brutal injury news about Ronald Acuna Jr.

The Atlanta Braves on Sunday announced some brutal news regarding Ronald Acuna Jr.

Acuna exited his Braves’ 8-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after suffering a left knee injury on a non-contact play in the top of the first inning.

The Braves later announced that Acuna had suffered a torn ACL on the play, which will end his season.

Acuna led off the game with a double. But he was tagged out on the bases two batters later after going down with his injury while faking like he was going to run to third base.

This is the second time Acuna has suffered a torn ACL. The 26-year-old suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in 2021. The Braves went on to win the World Series that year even without him.

The reigning NL MVP, Acuna finishes his season batting .250 with a .716 OPS and 16 stolen bases in 49 games.
