Braves Broadcasters Turn Heads With Crushed Response After Latest Loss

Following a disheartening 0-6 start that saw the typically potent Braves' offense struggle mightily, it appeared early on in Wednesday's game that things were going to be different.

Despite facing a two-time Cy Young winner in Blake Snell, the Braves lineup managed to get off the mat and, with help from some shoddy defense by the Dodgers, plate five runs in the first two innings.

Spoiler alert: It would not hold up.

From the second inning on, the Dodgers slowly but surely clawed their way back into the game. At the same time, the Braves bats went stagnant once again.

It all ultimately led up to Shohei Ohtani stepping to the plate against reliable closer Raisel Iglesias in the bottom of the ninth frame with the score tied up at five a side. Dodger magic struck again, sending L.A. fans into a frenzy.

"The heartache" has indeed "hit a new level for the Atlanta Braves."

Who can really blame the Braves broadcast booth for sounding completely dejected when Ohtani's walk-off homer sailed into the seats at Dodger Stadium?

Atlanta announcer Brandon Gaudin was simply giving voice to how all Braves fans must be feeling about a disastrous 0-7 start to the season.

Not only are the Braves the one remaining winless team in the league, in the past few days, they've had to watch All-Star pitcher Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) hit the IL and free-agent acquisition Jurickson Profar receive an 80-game suspension for PED use.

To make matters even worse, just when it seemed that things might get a little better Wednesday night, the conclusion was the same.

In an attempt to find a silver lining, the Braves will at least be heading home for the first time following a nightmare road trip to begin the regular season. Atlanta fans will try to help lift their team's fortunes Friday night against the Marlins.
