Along with having a 4.5% chance to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft — which will be revealed next week during the MLB Draft Lottery — the Braves also secured a first-round pick through the PPI incentive program thanks to Drake Baldwin winning NL Rookie of the Year.
That pick was officially announced on Tuesday, with Atlanta slated to draft 26th overall. The selection carries a slot value of $3.49 million, giving the Braves a massive bonus pool to work with in the upcoming draft.
Baldwin’s fantastic rookie campaign had major implications for the Braves in more ways than one. He looks every bit like a future premier catcher in the league, and by winning Rookie of the Year, he may have just helped Atlanta land a prospect who could become one of his teammates down the road.
