Braves get positive injury update on Ronald Acuña Jr.
Mike Lang / USA TODAY NETWORK

For Braves fans, the wait felt like a month, but the results of Ronald Acuña Jr’s second MRI came in Tuesday morning, and it’s the best case scenario.

Irritation of the meniscus is far from uncommon for a player that has previously torn their ACL. The most common way to get back on the field is rest and recovery. Occasionally, surgery is needed if there is a big enough tear, but it looks like Acuña has avoided anything serious and aims to be ready for Opening Day.

For all fans, not just fans of the Braves, this is a win. Acuña is one of the most exciting young players in the game and helps grow it every time he steps in between those white lines. He’ll be ready to defend his 2023 NL MVP come March 28th on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies.
