Braves make roster move amid series with Mets

Ahead of their series finale with the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves have designated Carlos Carrasco for assignment. In a corresponding move, they’ve added Hunter Stratton from Gwinnett.

The Braves acquired Carlos Carrasco ahead of the trade deadline in a deal with the Yankees. There weren’t very high expectations for the veteran after he posted a 5.91 ERA in New York. The hope was that he could just eat a few innings to take some stress off the bullpen, but somehow, he managed to fall short of even that very low bar.

Carrasco made it through just 7.2 innings combined in his last two starts, surrendering 12 earned runs
