The Braves placed Reynaldo Lopez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with shoulder inflammation.
Atlanta recalled fellow right-hander JR Ritchie from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding transaction.
Lopez, 32, took the loss in Monday's 7-3 setback against the Cubs in Chicago after surrendering five runs on six hits in three innings.
The former All-Star is 4-5 with a 4.54 ERA through 26 games (13 starts) this season, his third campaign with Atlanta and 11th in the majors.
Ritchie, 23, made his major league debut on April 23 and is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 appearances (eight starts) for the Braves. Atlanta drafted him in the first round in 2022.
