Two days after the Atlanta Braves placed ace southpaw Max Fried on the injured list retroactive to Sunday due to a left-side muscle spasm in his lumbar spine, the club announced that fellow left-hander Tommy Milone was added to the IL with left elbow inflammation.
In corresponding roster moves, the Braves recalled right-hander Huascar Ynoa and outrighted infielder/outfielder Charlie Culberson to the team's alternate training site.
Atlanta acquired Milone from the Baltimore Orioles ahead of last month's trade deadline, and the 33-year-old made three appearances with the Braves before starting his stint on the IL. He has surrendered 16 runs, all earned, across 9.2 innings of work since the trade.
Milone allowed eight earned runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings during Wednesday's historic 29-9 win over the Miami Marlins.
As noted by the Associated Press (h/t ESPN), the Braves currently have six pitchers on IL.
