According to the Atlanta Braves official Twitter/X account, Rafael Montero is headed to Detroit in exchange for infielder Jim Jarvis.
The #Braves tonight acquired minor league INF Jim Jarvis from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for RHP Rafael Montero.

The Braves acquired Rafael Montero in a deal with the Astros early in the season when Alex Anthopoulos realized his decision not to add to the bullpen during the offseason was gross oversight.
Unfortunately, nobody is trading good relievers in April, and there was a reason the Astros were more than willing to move Montero, who has been atrocious for the Braves. In 36 appearances with Atlanta, he owns a 5.50 ERA.
It’s a bit shocking Montero even made it this far with the Braves. He probably should have been designated for assignment a while ago. So, the fact the Braves were able to get anything for him should be viewed as a small win.
With that being said, Jim Jarvis isn’t anything to write home about. He brings next to nothing to the table offensively. If he ever makes an appearance in Atlanta, it probably would be a sign that things have gone terribly wrong in the future.
