Brewers Dominate Diamondbacks in 14-4 Rout
Rob Schumacher/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

After initially striking first with a pair of runs in the 2nd inning, the Milwaukee Brewers dominated Merrill Kelly, resulting in a crushing 14-4 loss for the Diamondbacks.

Kelly allowed six earned runs on five hits in 3.2 innings of work. Milwaukee intensified their assault in the 5th inning, launching three home runs, with Rhys Hoskins, Sal Frelick, and Willy Adames each recording solo shots.

Adames particularly shone at the plate, delivering an outstanding performance by hitting a home run in all three of his at-bats, driving in six runs.

In the 5th and 6th innings, Humberto Castellanos had an extremely rough outing on the mound. Castellanos allowed six earned runs on eight hits.

After the Diamondbacks initially scored in the 2nd inning, they remained scoreless until the 8th, when they managed to tack on two more runs. This late rally was fueled by three singles and a walk.

Nevertheless, these two runs only marginally reduced the deficit, which sat at an insurmountable 10 runs.

Looking ahead, as Spring Training concludes, the Diamondbacks will face the Cleveland Guardians in back-to-back games at Chase Field, starting on Monday at 6:40 PM.

Arizona’s Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday at 7:10 PM against the Colorado Rockies.
