Veteran Jake Bauers, 30, is making a legitimate case for earning his first All-Star selection with the Milwaukee Brewers this season.
Following a strong performance across his first 49 games, batting .280 with nine home runs, 33 RBI and four stolen bases.
He has transformed from a strikeout-prone depth piece to a disciplined hitter who boasts a 20.1% chase rate.
Bauers is relishing one of the most proficient stretches of his career, upholding a career-best strikeout rate (22.7%).

Bauers has inevitably made noise in the NL this season. His bounce-back performance has been highly regarded through his ability to crush balls deep with high exit velocities (92 mph AEV, 88th percentile). Followed by a hard-hit rate of 52.7%, ranking in the 95th percentile.
He's found stability with the Brewers following venturing from five different clubhouses before finding the right fit. With the Brewers, Bauers has shown robust dominance by unlocking a career-high level of production.
This has been established by making adjustments with his swing (flattening his launch angle), so he can produce more hard line drives.
Bauers also provides versatility as he can be shifted from first base to corner outfield positions as well as designated hitter. This provides Brewers manager Pat Murphy with the ability to keep his bat active in the lineup consistently as he offers flexibility.
A clutch grab made on Sunday in the Brewers' 2-0 victory over the Houston Astros has showcased how Bauer is All-Star material.
In the top of the second inning against the Astros, Bauers made an incredible diving catch, taking a base hit away from Isaac Paredes. The nifty grab helped flamethrower extraordinar Jacob Misiorowski sustain and pitch seven scoreless, dominant innings.
