Brewers' Kolten Wong back on IL with oblique strain

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong is having a solid spring at the plate but likely can't wait to put this portion of the season behind him.

Per Adam McCalvy of the league's website and The Associated Press (h/t ESPN), Milwaukee placed Wong on the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a strained left oblique he suffered in Thursday's win over Arizona.

In a corresponding roster move, Milwaukee recalled utility player Pablo Reyes from Triple-A Nashville.

Wong, 30, missed two weeks of action in April with the exact same injury, something that wasn't lost on manager Craig Counsell following Thursday's contest. "It's not bad, but it's concerning because it's the same spot that he did earlier this year," Counsell said at that time.

Across 44 games this season, Wong is batting .280 with four home runs and 15 RBI. Milwaukee, meanwhile, heads into Friday night at 30-26 overall and in third place in the National League Central standings, two games back of the first-place Chicago Cubs.
