Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Logan Henderson is competing for a rotation spot this spring. A year ago, he impressed when called upon, owning a 1.78 ERA over five starts.
His focus this spring has been on adding a third pitch to his arsenal by resurrecting a curveball he used during his college days. Incorporating another offering would give him more of a starter’s mix, rather than relying primarily on the fastball–changeup combination he featured a year ago.
However, a now familiar ailment may hinder that progress.
Late last year, Henderson was sidelined with an elbow flexor strain. The injury did not require surgery, and he instead worked through a rehab program to strengthen the elbow. It also came in the context of a prior procedure in 2022, when he had pins inserted to repair an avulsion fracture in the same elbow.
According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, Logan Henderson is currently dealing with elbow soreness during Spring Training. McCalvy noted that Henderson has been feeling better, but given his previous history with issues in that elbow, the situation still raises some concern.
Brewers righty Logan Henderson is dealing with some mild elbow soreness but reported feeling better today. Something to watch after he missed time with elbow inflammation during the second half of last season.

For now, the focus will be on making sure Henderson is fully healthy before ramping things back up. The Milwaukee Brewers have shown a willingness to be patient with their young pitchers, especially when elbow issues are involved. If Henderson can move past the soreness and continue developing his expanded pitch mix, he still has the potential to play an important role in the organization’s pitching depth moving forward.=
