Left-hander Aaron Ashby is in his fourth major-league season pitching for the Milwaukee Brewers. The 27-year-old southpaw joined the organization in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB Draft and made his big-league debut in 2021.
Ashby was primarily used as a starter his first two seasons before undergoing surgery on his left shoulder in April 2023 to repair a torn labrum and address an impingement, sidelining him for nearly a year.
He endured a lengthy rehab process and struggled to regain his form post-surgery. He didn’t earn a guaranteed spot on the roster until August 2024, having made two earlier appearances that season before being optioned to Triple-A each time.
In 2025, Ashby has thrived in a relief role. Over 13 appearances, he has posted a 1.66 ERA with a 1–0 record and even recorded his third career save.
On Friday, the Brewers announced they have recalled Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville and placed Ashby on the paternity list.

With the All-Star break approaching, Ashby likely won’t rejoin the team until next Friday’s series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers, as Milwaukee has only three games remaining before the break.
Myers, a 26-year-old right-handed starter, has appeared in five games this season, posting a 4.95 ERA and a 1–1 record while striking out 15 batters.
The Brewers have surged of late, winning four straight to improve to 53-40. They now sit just two games behind the first-place Chicago Cubs in the NL Central race.
