The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated utility man Isaac Collins from the paternity list Monday and optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville in advance of a road doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs.

In addition, the Brewers designated right-hander Chad Patrick to the 27th roster spot for the doubleheader.

Collins, 28, is batting .288 with eight home runs and 41 RBIs in 99 games as a rookie for the Brewers this season. He has helped Milwaukee to a 78-45 record at the start of play Monday, which is best in the major leagues.

Black, 25, went 2-for-8 with a double in five games with the Brewers this season.

Patrick, 27, is expected to be the Milwaukee's starter in Game 2 of the doubleheader. He was 3-7 with a 3.52 ERA in 19 appearances (18 starts) for Milwaukee this season after making his major league debut March 29.
