Bo Bichette and the Toronto Blue Jays stumbled anew on Monday night, as they suffered an 8-4 loss at the hands of the visiting Atlanta Braves to open a three-game series at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
The Blue Jays didn't get much from their second-generation star duo of Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bichette went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts while Guerrero was 0-for-4.
The lack of production from Toronto's top two guys in the batting order stunted the team's offense against Braves starter Grant Holmes, who also induced a vulgar reaction from Bichette after striking out the Blue Jays star in only four pitches in the second inning.
In the last pitch of that particular sequence, Holmes threw an 87 MPH slider after three consecutive four-seam fastballs and got Bichette swinging on air. Bichette then let out a loud reaction that was caught on broadcast.

Bichette's forgettable night against the Braves came on the heels of a strong stretch from the 27-year-old shortstop. Before that contest, Bichette hit .391 with six RBIs and two walks through 26 plate appearances across five games.
So far in the 2025 MLB regular season, Bichette has a .297 batting average but remains without a home run. He also has just a .346 on-base percentage to go along with a .365 slugging percentage.
Bichette and the 9-8 Blue Jays will look to turn things around and level the series with the Braves this Tuesday when Toronto gives the ball to Kevin Gausman.
