Bryce Harper Delivers Blunt Statement on Dodgers Spending Habits

Two of the National League's top contenders, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies, will square off in an entertaining weekend series early in the year.

The Dodgers have won their first eight games of the season, including six in the form of comebacks, and have one of the deepest and most talented pitching staffs, maybe ever. Philadelphia is also off to an impressive 5-1 start as well, but this weekend's series is easily each team's toughest test thus far.

Phillies star Bryce Harper was asked about his thoughts on how the Dodgers spend money and how they can acquire the best Japanese talent, and his answer is exactly what you want to hear as a baseball fan:

“I don’t know if people will like this, but I feel like only losers complain about what they’re doing. I think they’re a great team. They’re a great organization.”

Harper not only praises the organization for what they have done but also calls out all those who love to complain about how their team isn't spending anything due to the Dodgers' egregious habits.

The Phillies themselves have a loaded roster top to bottom which features maybe the best rotation, and many guys in the lineup who can hit 20+ home runs. If there is a "number one" competitor to the Dodgers, it is the Phillies.

And Harper is right, it usually is the "losers" or those who have lost at the hands of the Dodgers in either the playoffs or many times in the regular season.

Most MLB fans forget that the Dodgers rallied to their eighth franchise championship on the backs of a depleted starting rotation and many bullpen games to get them through critical games.
