Bryce Harper makes Jays announcer look like genius with HR

Bryce Harper on Sunday smacked his first home runs of spring training, and he made an announcer look like a genius in the process.

Harper took Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi deep in the first inning and again in the third of the Philadelphia Phillies’ 10-5 win over the Jays.

Blue Jays analyst Joe Siddall looked prescient after Harper homered. The announcer speculated that Harper might sit breaking ball for the at-bat.

And guess what? Kikuchi threw Harper a first-pitch curve, and Harper, who was prepared for it, pulverized the ball.

That was awesome. It’s such a pleasure to watch a sporting event where the analyst does their homework and has their head in the game like Siddall did.

As for Harper, he’s looking to repeat as NL MVP following his big 2021 season.
