Bryce Harper recently told Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic that he would be open to switching from first base to the outfield if it would help the betterment of the team. Harper switched from the outfield to first base back in 2023 after his Tommy John surgery.

Harper commented, " I talked to (the Phillies) this offseason about that. Just in case a guy was available (at first) that we needed to have, needed to get. I'd be more than open to it if we had a guy like that, who was going to change our lineup or change the demeanor of our team..."
He is showing his determination to win and bring the Philadelphia Phillies a ring by being very open to switching back to the outfield if the Phillies can bring in a game changer. This willingness from a two-time MVP to do whatever it takes is not something you see very often.
Harper is coming off a very successful season where he batted .285 with 30 home runs, 87 RBI's, and a 4.8 WAR. He also led the Phillies to the NLDS and batted .333 with one home run and three RBIs in the postseason. Harper was named an All-Star last season for the first time since 2022.
It looks like he will start the year at first base, but this willingness shows the Phillies that they have the opportunity to go out and try to acquire another elite first baseman, knowing that Harper will willingly move positions.
Harper is getting ready for another great season and is preparing for opening day, where the Phillies will play Harper's old team, the Nationals, in Washington.
