St. Louis Cardinals centerfielder Victor Scott II has already seen his work pay dividends on the field this season, but now he's displaying a different kind of work he put in over the offseason.
Under the stage name 'Argo,' Scott dropped his sixth studio album, "Not Your Average Rapper," at midnight on Thursday via TikTok.
Although he's known for his play on the diamond, the 24-year-old began releasing music on streaming platforms as early as 2021, when he dropped his debut single, Clueless.
It appears as if the up-and-coming songwriter/center fielder stayed true to his Atlanta roots in "Not Your Average Rapper," providing a sound seemingly inspired by popular Atlanta rappers like Young Thug, Lil' Baby and more.
The 13-song, 34-minute album, produced in part by A3, features several other up-and-coming hip hop artists along with Scott including Zay9ine, N.E.L., Ben Frank, Sirisinomed and Lil' Gripp.
"Not Your Average Rapper" is Scott's second album of the year as he dropped the collaborative album "OvaYaHead" with N.E.L. on New Year's Day.
Scott's top song "Draft Day" from his debut album "Welcome To My World" has amassed more than 3,000 streams on Spotify. He's also chosen to walk up to the plate to one of his songs - "Boxers to Poodles," from the album "Write my Wrongs" - for the 2025 Season.
On the field, Scott is coming off a big series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, in which he went 3-for-10 with a double, triple and two RBI. The center fielder has seven RBI and seven runs scored on 12 hits in 12 games played so far this year.
The speedster's five stolen bases lead the team and are tied for sixth in the National League.
To drop a full-length album mid-season while he's excelling for the Cardinals shows the dedication Scott puts into multiple aspects of his life.
