The offense of the Chicago Cubs has continued to impress this regular season. They put forth an 11-0 beatdown of the St. Louis Cardinals last night. It was the ballclub’s 16th game this season with 10+ runs. That is the most such instances of 10+ runs through 90 games in franchise history since 1929, when the team had 20. Can the Chicago Cubs’ offense keep it going?
This is the Cubs’ 16th game with 10+ runs, their most thru 90 games since 1929 (20)
Before that, last time with that many 10-run performances thru 90 for them? 1898!

It has been a good season for the Cubs. They are leading the National League Central. As the statistics suggest, Chicago’s offense is one of the league’s best. They are fifth in batting average, third in home runs, and second in runs scored. Right Fielder Seiya Suzuki has paced the team’s offense. He is sixth in the league in home runs and leading the league in RBI. Center Fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong is seventh in the league in home runs and RBI.
Chicago’s pitching staff has been middling in 2025. They are 14th in team ERA, 17th in opposing batting average, and eighth in WHIP. The team’s pitching staff has been hampered by injuries this season. Their offense must continue carrying the load until the Cubs can see many of their key pitching pieces back.
Chicago returns to the diamond tomorrow night when they visit the Minnesota Twins to begin a three-game set. If the Chicago Cubs can continue playing this well, they can represent the National League in the World Series this fall.
