The Chicago Cubs are putting together an impressive first half of the 2025 season. An extremely balanced offense leaves them in first place in the National League Central with a 33-21 record. They have received ample contributions from players like Kyle Tucker, a breakout campaign from Pete Crow-Armstrong, and now Seiya Suzuki is getting hot.
Major League Baseball announced today that Cubs' Suzuki is the National League Player of the Week.

Suzuki put together an awe-inspiring week that featured three home runs, 10 RBIs, and 12 hits. He now leads MLB with 49 runs batted in. Crow-Armstrong is right behind him with 48.
Suzuki had three games this week in which he recorded three or more hits, and another three games recording three or more RBIs. He is now hitting .274 with a .910 OPS and 29 extra-base hits.
Chicago looks to have one of the most lethal offenses in baseball, and is a well-balanced squad despite missing their top two starters for most of the season. They have solidified themselves as top contenders in the National League and are definite favorites to take the NL Central crown.
The Cubbies are also playing some of their best baseball as of late, winning eight of their last 10 games.
Suzuki is in the midst of a five-year, $85 million contract and has officially fought off any trade speculation that may have taken place before the season. He has been a stellar player this season, and is a huge piece in what Chicago is building on the north side.
