Chicago White Sox Announce Multiple Roster Moves

Chicago White Sox prospect Chase Meidroth recently sustained an injury to his thumb while participating in a swinging activity and has been competing despite this condition for approximately one week. Given that the White Sox likely prefer not to jeopardize the season for one of their valuable prospects, who has adapted effectively to the major leagues, the decision to place him on the Injured List is reasonable.

Meidroth will be on the shelf for at least the minimum 10 days, after starting his MLB career with a .269 batting average, a .387 on-base percentage, and a .269 slugging percentage. Hopefully, the 23-year-old can recover quickly to showcase his talents at multiple infield positions again soon.

In Meidroth's absence, former top prospect Bobby Dalbec has been called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Through 12 games, Dalbec has posted a 1.050 OPS with four home runs, potentially providing a much-needed offensive boost.

Martín Pérez has also been moved to the 60-Day Injured List due to forearm soreness. Although the Sox have not disclosed much information about the severity of this injury, Pérez will now be out until at least some time in June.
