Chicago White Sox Secure First Series Sweep Of 2025 Season

The Chicago White Sox made history this weekend at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Chicago secured its first series sweep of the 2025 season. It was the first time the White Sox swept an opponent since they took all three games from the Tampa Bay Rays in April 2024. Can the Chicago White Sox keep it going?

Following a historically bad 2024 season, the White Sox have improved in 2025. In their defense, that was not a tall task. Chicago still has the second-worst record in Major League Baseball. Chicago’s offense has not been good in 2025. They are 30th in batting average, 28th in home runs, and 27th in runs scored. Center Fielder Luis Robert Jr, expected to be dealt at the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline, has been the team’s best offensive player.

Chicago’s pitching staff has been far better. They are 19th in ERA, 25th in WHIP, and 21st in opposing batting average. The team’s lone representative in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game was Starting Pitcher Shane Smith.

Final Thoughts

The Chicago White Sox will look to keep up their high level of play tomorrow when they begin a three-game set on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays. Even though a postseason trip is out of the question for the White Sox, they are showing some fight.
