Chris Rose Calls Out Media For 'Witch Hunt' Against Mets' Juan Soto

The New York Mets locked up former Yankees outfielder Juan Soto with a 15-year, $765 million contract this past offseason, giving the team a bona fide front line hitter with a superstar's charisma to aid their quest for their first World Series title since 1986.

Soto has responded with an uncharacteristically down season by his standards as he has hit just .246 on the season with 8 home runs and 20 RBI, one season after his 41-homer, 109 RBI season across town.

On Tuesday, longtime Fox Sports personality Chris Rose took to his X account to share a video of his thoughts on what he has deemed a 'witch hunt' surrounding Soto heading into the meat of the Mets' schedule.

Rose played a clip of Soto being grilled by reporters about allegedly running slow out of the batter's box during a recent game, a concern Soto brushed off.

The negativity surrounding Soto led Rose to declare the situation a "bit witch hunty," as he shared additional thoughts.

"You know, Michael Kay reported that Soto wanted to stay with the Yankees (before heading to the Mets this past offseason), there was another report from Bob Klapisch who's been around the game a long time saying the Mets aren't happy with Soto's lack of enthusiasm, like, all this stuff it feels a little witch-hunty to me," a fired up Rose said in the video.

"Now, to me, the problem is this, I never have a problem criticizing a player for something that I see, that happens, I have a hard time doing it trying to get inside of somebody's head.

"I think that is a dangerous place to live," Rose continued.
