Christian Yelich Makes Announcement Amid 9th Brewers Season

Christian Yelich's bat has been inconsistent during his ninth season with the Milwaukee Brewers. He started off strong but after missing a full month recovering from a left groin strain, he has not looked like himself.

The 34-year-old veteran left-handed slugger has posted a .217 batting average, .305 on-base percentage, .606 OPS, one home run and six RBIs across his last 20 appearances.

For a former National League MVP, three-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger and two-time batting champion, he is clearly capable of much more. The Brewers need him to perform too in a competitive NL Central division as they search for their fifth division title in six seasons.

As Yelich looks to get back on track ahead of Milwaukee's weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he took to Instagram to make a special announcement.

Yelich has long been partnered with Fox Communities Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative based in Wisconsin with over 100,000 members.

As one of the faces of the credit union, Yelich teamed up with them to give back through the "Summer of Yeli." In the caption, Yelich details that the two will be giving away items to fans, including signed prizes, giveaways and even a potential meet-and-greet with Yelich himself before a game.

He added that fans should follow the credit union across social media to keep an eye out for what is coming.

Aside from the festivities for fans, Yelich will look to give those same fans something to cheer about this postseason, hoping to lead Milwaukee there once again.

He is still signed for two more seasons after this one on his nine-year, $215 million deal and remains focused on bringing a World Series title to Milwaukee.
