Cincinanti Reds Veteran Named National League Player of the Week

Cincinnati Reds veteran Spencer Steer was named National League Player of the Week.

Steer hit .522 with a .957 slugging percentage and a 1.477 OPS. He had three home runs, all coming in Friday's 8-1 win over the San Diego Padres, and seven RBIs.

The 27-year-old single-handedly helped the Reds win two of three games against the Padres. His three runs on Friday powered Cincinnati to an 8-1 victory over the Padres, and his game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning on Sunday helped the Reds walk off the Padres with a 3-2 win.

Steer is slashing .254/.306/.401 with 23 extra-base hits in 77 games this season for Cincinnati.
