Cincinnati Reds Acquire Ke’Bryan Hayes

The Cincinnati Reds made a big splash as they acquired third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes from the Pittsburgh Pirates . The Reds are sending shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura and right-handed pitcher Taylor Rogers to the Pirates. Hayes is under control for five years and provides a defensive third baseman for Cincinnati. Hayes, this season in 100 games, is hitting .236 with a .569 OPS. He has ten doubles, two triples, two home runs, 36 RBI, 34 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 18 walks.

Ke’Bryan Hayes

Hayes, in 576 career games, is hitting .254 with a .676 OPS. He has 101 doubles, 16 triples, 39 home runs, 212 RBI, 258 runs scored, 61 stolen bases, and 157 walks. He won a Gold Glove in 2023 with a .984 fielding percentage, and he finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2020. Defensively, he has posted a .981 fielding percentage in his career.

Sammy Stafura

Stafura, this season at Single-A Daytona, is hitting .262 with a .804 OPS. He has 18 doubles, nine triples, four home runs, 48 RBI, 48 runs scored, 28 stolen bases, and 63 walks. He’s appeared in 193 games in the Reds organization, hitting .254 with a .777 OPS. He has 33 doubles, 15 triples, 13 home runs, 108 RBI, 125 runs scored, 59 stolen bases, and 135 walks.

Taylor Rogers

Rogers in 40 games is 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA, a 4.13 FIP, a 1.46 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts in 33 innings. In 549 career appearances, he is 30-36 with a 3.28 ERA, a 3.29 FIP, a 1.19 WHIP, and 607 strikeouts in 523.2 innings.
