Cincinnati Reds Tied With New York Mets for Final National League Wild Card Spot

The Cincinnati Reds swept Chicago Cubs on Sunday, beating them 1-0 and winning their fifth straight games.

They used an RBI double from Gavin Lux and a brilliant performance from the pitching staff to secure a victory.

Tony Santillan walked two batters in the ninth, but was able to get out of the jam.

The New York Mets lost to the Washington Nationals earlier in the day and the Reds and Mets are now tied for the third and final National League Wild Card spot. However, the Reds hold the tiebreaker over the Mets.

The Reds are off on Monday before starting a series against the Pirates at Great American Ball Park, before closing out the season against the Brewers.
