Cleveland Guardians Third Baseman Jose Ramirez is a stolen base short of putting his name in the record books. He has 276 career home runs and 274 career stolen bases. With another stolen base, he would join Carlos Beltran, Barry Bonds, Andre Dawson, and Bobby Bonds as the only players in MLB history with 275+ home runs and 275+ steals in their first 13 seasons. The Guardians third baseman is putting together another great regular season. He is eighth in the league in batting average, 18th in home runs, and 10th in OPS. Will he be able to make history this weekend?

Ramirez has been one of the best players in the league since debuting with the Cleveland Guardians in 2013. He is a seven-time MLB All-Star and a five-time Silver Slugger. He also has seven top 10 finishes in AL MVP voting. He should show up on AL MVP ballots later this year if he keeps playing this well.
Ramirez will have two games today to record the stolen base he needs to make history. Cleveland’s game against the Kansas Royals last night was rained out. The teams will play a doubleheader today.
