Como have officially announced the signing of 19-year-old forward Jayden Addai on a permanent deal from Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.
Como have confirmed the signing of Addai, who joins for a reported fee of €14m according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The teenage talent has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2030.
The versatile forward appeared on 17 occasions for Alkmaar in the Eredivisie last season, three times in the Europa League and also helped his club’s youth side with seven goals and three assists from 12 appearances last season.
Addai becomes Como’s third signing of the summer transfer window, following the earlier arrivals of Martin Baturina and Jesus Rodriguez, both of whom broke the club’s previous transfer record.
Como also have a deal in place with Celtic for the transfer of German winger Nicolas Kuhn, who provided 21 goals and 15 assists from 51 appearances across all competitions last season.
“I am thrilled to be here and to have the opportunity to join such a prestigious club as Como 1907,” Addai said at the time of his signing in a statement on the club website.
He continued: “The club has an ambitious project, and I can’t wait to help achieving great goals. This is my first experience away from home, but I am quickly settling in and feeling very confident and determined.
“Como is a special place. I visited the lake last year and found it lovely: a pleasant climate, great food — a place where you feel really good.”
Head coach Cesc Fabregas added: “Jayden is direct, technical, and brave. He’s already shown real quality at a high level, and we believe this is the perfect place for him to grow and thrive. We’re excited to have him with us.”
