It was a clear 87 degree night Chase Field on Friday, perfect for baseball weather as the D-Backs took on the Colorado Rockies and won by a score of 8-0.

What was a story of pitching in the beginning of the first game of rivalry weekend, turned into a one sided hitting fest. Corbin Burnes was dealing on Friday night, as in six innings pitched he only gave up two hits and no earned runs along with a season high ten strikeouts. Burnes has been very successful as of late, as he just threw seven scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers in his last outing before dismantling the Rockies tonight. The Rockies had Carson Palmquist make his MLB debut on Friday. Palmquist started off having a decent start, though was burning out in the third and fourth innings.

D-Backs bats come alive:

Tim Tawa started it off with a double down the line that scored Josh Naylor, and shortly after Geraldo Perdomo grounded out and but was able to score Moreno from third making it a 2-0 game early on in the second inning.

The Rockies had an opportunity in the top of the fourth inning with bases loaded, although Burnes showed his composure and was able to strike out Moniak, as Colorado left the bases loaded.

It was all uphill for the D-Backs after that. In the fourth inning, Gabriel Moreno doubled to left and scored Randal Grichuk. Geraldo Perdomo did what he needed to after and hit a sacrifice fly to left that scored Moreno making it a 5-0 ball game.

Arizona ended up tacking on a couple more runs after a Eugenio Suarez single to center that scored Perdomo and Marte making it a 7-0 game in the bottom of the seventh but weren’t done yet. The Snakes wanted to make a statement though and in the top of the eighth inning, Geraldo Perdomo hit a double that scored Gabriel Moreno blowing it open to an 8-0 lead.

The D-Backs eventually won by the score of 8-0 over Colorado, surely having some fun on Friday night that ended up celebrating with some postgame fireworks after as well. The Snakes will look to take the series over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night at Chase Field.
