Something must be in the water because the Los Angeles Dodgers have been hit with a rash of injuries, and they continue to pile up.
When you look at the pitching staff alone, there are 13 pitchers on the injured list. One of those pitchers is reliever Evan Phillips, who is on the 15-day IL.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave an update on the timeline of Phillips’ return, and it is a bit ominous.
The Dodgers skipper told reporters on Friday that Phillips did indeed get an MRI. The results showed inflammation in his elbow.
Dave Roberts said Evan Phillips did get an MRI. Showed inflammation in his elbow. Will be two weeks until he can start a throwing progression.

It will now be at least two more weeks before he can even begin his throwing progression.
This is a big blow to a bullpen that desperately needs arms. With Phillips on the 15-day IL, the hope was that he would be coming back soon, but now that is being pushed back.
While 13 pitchers are on the IL, 10 of those are from the bullpen, and Clayton Kershaw could be viewed as the 11th as he looks to take on more of a bullpen role.
Starting fielders Tommy Edman and Teoscar Hernández are also on the IL and will miss some time.
The Dodgers are miraculously still in first place in the NL West, but they need to get healthy soon and then stay that way.
They face the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at 6:40 PT, as they look to avenge their loss last night.
