The Los Angeles Dodgers are fresh off a sweep of the Miami Marlins, where Tommy Edman was the hero in the first game by coming off the bench and delivering a two-run walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth inning. It was a game where the Dodgers' bullpen gave up the game, and the offense had gone stale for the final five innings.
However, Edman was held out of the lineup in two of the Dodgers' last three games, as he is laboring with an ankle injury.
Manager Dave Roberts spoke before the final game against Miami and said he expects Edman to be in the lineup for this weekend's series against the Atlanta Braves.
Tommy Edman said his right ankle is fine after “tweaking it” in last night’s game. Dave Roberts told us before the game he expects Edman to be back in the lineup on Friday in ATL. #Dodgers

Edman even noted that the ankle is fine, and he likely just needed a couple of days off.
The 29-year-old switch-hitting second baseman/ outfielder is having the best start to his career. Especially in the power department, where he has eight home runs through the first calendar month, and Edman's career-high for home runs in a season is just 13.
Edman earned NLCS MVP honors a season ago by being so productive against left-handed pitching. Still, his ability to make adjustments to his swing and approach has led to increased production from the left side as well, making him a strong force in the Dodgers' lineup.
Los Angeles now heads into a big weekend series against the Braves, who always provide good matchups with the Dodgers, and Edman will be needed if LA hopes to gain a series victory.
