Denzel Clarke continues to strengthen his case to win a Gold Glove in his rookie season.

The Athletics center fielder has been a one-man highlight reel over the past several weeks. The Canadian recently made an awesome Spider-Man catch against the Toronto Blue Jays in front of his hometown fans. Clarke one-upped himself two weeks ago when he made the Catch of the Year to rob a home run against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Athletics center fielder flashed his premium glove again Friday against the Cleveland Guardians at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, Calif. The A’s were two outs away from victory as Carlos Santana stepped up to the plate with a man on first.

Santana slapped a 101-mph fastball toward the gap in left-center field. Clarke turned what looked like a surefire double into a spectacular second out.

The number of rookie outfielders who have won Gold Gloves has risen of late. Colorado Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle won one as a rookie in 2023, while Boston Red Sox right fielder did the same the following year.

Clarke clearly wants the trend to continue for a third straight season.
