The Detroit Tigers begin a series against the Atlanta Braves tonight. They are coming off being swept by the Cleveland Guardians during the week and were outscored 14-6. The Tigers now have nine games left in the regular season and their lead over the Guardians for the division has shrunk to 3.5. With the stretch run coming the Tigers get back closer Kyle Finnegan as he is activated off the injured list. To make room for Finnegan the Tigers have optioned left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to Triple-A Toledo. The Tigers also placed infielder Colt Keith on the 10-day injured list with right rib cage inflammation. To take Keith’s spot they recalled infielder Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo.

Kyle Finnegan

Finnegan in 12 games with Detroit since the trade went 3-0. He had four saves, a 0.00 ERA, a 0.42 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts in 14.1 innings. Before the trade in 40 games with the Nationals, he went 1-4. Finnegan had 20 saves, a 4.38 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 39 innings. In his lone rehab appearance, he went 0.2 innings. He didn’t allow a hit but walked one and struck out one. 

Bailey Horn 

Horn in ten games for Detroit this season went 0-1. He posted a 1.59 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and ten strikeouts in 11.1 innings. In 32 minor league games with six of those coming as starts, he went 4-2. Horn posted a 3.80 ERA, a 1.48 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts in 42.2 innings.

Colt Keith

Keith, in 137 games for the Tigers hit .256 with a .746 OPS. He had 22 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 45 RBI, 65 runs scored, a stolen base, and 48 walks. 

Jace Jung

Jung in 18 games for the Tigers hit .111 with a .356 OPS. He had three RBI, eight runs scored, and seven walks. In 110 games at Toledo, he hit .252 with a .816 OPS. He had 27 doubles, a triple, 17 home runs, 74 RBI, 69 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 78 walks.
