The Detroit Tigers have had quite the active offseason already: Signing Kenta Maeda and trading for Mark Canha.
But it isn't just the players getting acquired by the Tigers; the team has also inked manager A.J. Hinch to an extension.
Per Tigers' reporter Cody Staverhagen:
The Tigers have signed manager A.J. Hinch to a contract extension.
They are not disclosing the terms. His previous deal ran through 2025. The new deal was completed the week after the season ended.

He also added the following:
Scott Harris said he approached Hinch about an extension the day after the season ended. Said it was important to make sure Hinch did not feel like an inherited manager.
"We are pumped that A.J. is going to be the manager of the Tigers for a long time," Harris said.

Harris just took over as the general manager of the organization, so providing Hinch with that security is certainly a good thing.
He has managed for 10 years in his career with the Diamondbacks, Astros and Tigers. He led the Astros to the 2017 World Series title but was ultimately suspended a year for his role in the 2017 sign stealing scandal.
He's headed into his fourth year with the Tigers and led the team to 78 wins this past season. They finished second in the American League Central and are looking to make up further ground in the division in 2024.
Lifetime, Hinch is 791-717. He's been to the playoffs four times in his career, all with the Astros.
