Diamondbacks Conclude Spring Training with 6-1 Win Over Guardians
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Diamondbacks concluded Spring Training with an even 15-15 record after securing a 6-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday.

Taking the mound for Arizona was Brandon Pfaadt, who, after allowing a run in the 1st inning, settled down nicely, delivering four consecutive shutout innings.

Pfaadt exited the game with the Diamondbacks leading 3-1, boosted by a colossal 444-ft home run courtesy of Blaze Alexander, who capped off his camp performance with an impressive .400 batting average.

In the 7th inning, Arizona mounted a three-run surge, which ultimately knocked Triston McKenzie out of the game. The rally was fueled by two drawn walks, a hit by pitch, and a couple of modest singles. Nevertheless, it resulted in three runs crossing the plate, allowing the Diamondbacks to establish a commanding 6-1 lead.

Arizona’s bullpen, comprising efforts from Ryan Thompson, Kyle Nelson, Bryce Jarvis, and John Matthews, held firm, delivering four shutout innings while conceding just one hit.

The Diamondbacks’ 2024 campaign will officially commence on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 PM
