Friday night at Chase Field saw an incredible moment as the Arizona Diamondbacks fans gave Ketel Marte a standing ovation in his first at-bat back home after the incident in Chicago against the White Sox.

This past week, a fan attending the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago White Sox was ejected and banned indefinitely from all MLB stadiums and events. The fan had yelled something that had to do with Ketel Marte’s mother who passed away in 2017.

Recently, the D-Backs star second baseman took to social media to address the incident and share his thoughts about the situation.

D-Backs fans have rallied around Marte and started a movement online after the disgusting situation. The focus was to show their support for Marte by not only giving him a standing ovation in his first at-bat but by wearing pink as well to support his mother and the entire family.

On Friday night, two Arizona Diamondbacks fans were handing out shirts to show their support of Marte after the situation. Two lifelong D-Backs fans, Sam and Andrea, felt a bigger need to come out and show up when it mattered most. They were handing out pink shirts in honor of Ketel’s mother, with the writing, “Ketel is my MVP”.

Arizona fans have truly shown time and time again how much they care about their city, their players, and their team and this is just another example of how D-Backs fans like to rally around one another, especially when it comes to showing love for their team.
