The D-Backs were off to a great start on Tuesday, but couldn’t keep up the momentum. Shortly after, though, San Francisco had a massive momentum swing as they had a grand slam off the bat of Christian Koss that made it a 4-3 lead. The Giants never looked back as home runs from Willy Adames and Jung Hoo Lee were able to get six runs in and a 10-4 lead for San Francisco, something the Snakes couldn’t come back from. Brandon Pfaadt had a night he would like to forget, as he only pitched four innings while giving up four earned runs on six hits.
Arizona will have Eduardo Rodriguez get the start today, and he will look to change his string of bad luck. E-Rod had struggled this season, as he has a 6.86 ERA in his eight outings and has given up four or more runs in five of those games. In E-Rod’s last four appearances, he has given up 29 hits in 18.2 innings pitched.
Jordan Hicks will be on the mound for San Francisco as he makes his ninth appearance of the season. Hicks has a 1-4 record with a 5.82 ERA. In his last outing against the Twins in Minnesota, he pitched six innings but gave up three earned runs on seven hits.
In what could be a massive game later on down the road for this NL West divisional race, the D-Backs will look to win the series over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, hoping that it will get them back on track.
