Diamondbacks seek to spark revival against Pirates on Tuesday

The Diamondbacks aim to get their mojo back on Tuesday night while they go for a series win after getting swept last weekend.

A win was a welcome sight last night for this Diamondbacks ball club, after dropping the previous five games. Arizona eased into a win on Monday night after home runs from Eugenio Suárez and Josh Naylor.

Toeing the rubber on Tuesday:

Corbin Burnes will have his name called on Tuesday night as Arizona hopes to witness another gem. During the month of May so far, Burnes has only allowed three earned runs on 11 hits in 20 innings pitched with a 2-1 record and a 1.35 ERA. Pittsburgh will have their hands full as they’re dealing with one of the most locked-in pictures in the league as of late.

The Pirates are having Mike Burrows make his second start of the 2025 season. In his season debut, Burrows allowed four runs on four hits which ended in an 8-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. In AAA Indianapolis, Burrows pitched 32.1 innings while having a 2-1 record with a 2.51 ERA.

Arizona can hopefully get some momentum after what was a tough stretch last week against Los Angeles and St. Louis. It’s a long season, though the D-Backs must find a way to end up winning these games against the clubs that are struggling.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to take the series over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Chase Field on Tuesday night with the first pitch at 6:40 p.m. PT.
