Did Shohei Ohtani Send a Hidden Message to Joe Kelly With the Porsche?
USA TODAY Sports

Shohei Ohtani and Joe Kelly have become quite acquainted in their first months as Dodger teammates.

During free agency, Kelly's wife, Ashley, campaigned for Ohtani to sign with the Dodgers, saying her husband would give up his No. 17 jersey.

Then, Ohtani signed with the Dodgers, and the Kelly family owned up to their end of the promise, giving Ohtani the jersey and switching to No. 99.

While Kelly said he didn't want anything in return for the jersey, Ohtani elected to send something anyway. He sent a Porsche to the Kelly family household, addressed to Ashley.

The Kellys got to show off their Porsche earlier this week at a Jack in the Box in Ontario during the Dodgers' Community Tour, and fans on social media noticed a potential coded message in the license plate of the car.

The license plate, "DA39L17," appears to make out the phrase: Dear Ashley, thank you for 17."

It's unknown who was behind the license plate, but it seems like it was Ohtani's doing.

He clearly put a lot of thought into this gift to the Kellys, and it's great to see it going to good use.
