Dinger Tuesday: Who's gonna hit a homer? This guy

There are a few games on today's schedule that have some of the highest projected increases in homers we've ever seen. Good timing, seeing as it's Dinger Tuesday.

Following the weather to some wins

We're always open to following the weather forecasts when it comes to HR bets, and BallparkPal does a good job of looking at each stadium's weather, from temperature to wind, and analyzing the impact it will have on expected homers. For Tuesday's slate, two such games are through the roof, we're going to have to follow what we're seeing.

Cleveland @ Cincinnati

The Reds and Cincinnati always seem to be in an HR-happy environment, and today is nothing new. The numbers suggest a 41% boost is coming to homers in Cincy, so who are we to question that?

Most of the batters on these two teams have been a bit quiet, but we're seeing some value that could be an exciting start to the night.

Andres Gimenez (+700 DraftKings best price, +680 FanDuel for promo)

When at all possible, we'd prefer to load up an HR bet for the visitors. They're guaranteed nine innings, and sometimes that can be the difference between four and five at-bats. Gimenez bats second for Cleveland, making us feel even better that he'll have the opportunities to make something happen.

Gimenez hit a home run in his last game, which certainly got him on our radar. Nine of his 11 HRs this season have come against RHP, and that's who he'll see to start tonight with Graham Ashcraft on the mound. Gimenez played twice last season in Cincinnati and knocked a homer in one of those games.

With a sample of success in this stadium and fresh off a homer, why not take a stab at Gimenez at this price?

Arizona @ Colorado

As is so often the case, the Colorado weather is looking favorable for HRs, with a 37% boost expected. We've got a few hot bats in this one, which should lend itself well to the FanDuel promotion where the more homers the better.

Christian Walker (+325 CZR best price, FD not listed at time of writing)

Walker has hit a homer in two of his last three games and has 25 total on the season. He's also hit a homer in two of his last three games at Coors Field, which is always nice to see.

Lefty Ty Blach is on the mound for the Rockies, and Walker hits lefties for power far better than righties. His ISO is .336 compared to .221, a major leap worthy of a bet tonight. Walker is hot and the numbers suggest he can jump on Blach early.

In the news ...

Veteran RBs find new homes to start the week — We've been waiting to see where a few former Pro Bowl running backs would end up, and Monday brought a few resolutions on that front. Dalvin Cook signed with the Jets, while Ezekiel Elliott joined the Patriots. Cook signed for quite a bit of money, which makes us think that Breece Hall, who had a fantastic rookie season before tearing his ACL, might not be ready to start the year. In New England, Elliott figures to slot in as a short-yardage and goal-line back, which caps the excitement we did have on Rhamondre Stevenson for a big year in the touchdown market and in fantasy.

Dallas Cowboys agree to new contract with All-Pro Zack Martin — All-Pro guard Zack Martin had been holding out of Cowboys camp this summer looking for a new contract, and Dallas finally budged, adding $8.5M over the next two years to Martin's existing deal. Martin anchors one of the better offensive lines in football, and his presence should alleviate any concerns about the Cowboys' 2023 outlook. Dallas is currently +190 to win the NFC East and has a win total set at 10.5.

James Harden gets personal with Sixers president Daryl Morey —This should end well. During an appearance in China, James Harden made his stance with the 76ers abundantly clear, calling Morey a liar, and that he [Harden] will never be a part of an organization that he [Morey] is a part of. Harden wants out, in case that wasn't clear, and Philadelphia has shown no signs of appeasing his request/demand. It's hard to see an ending here that does not involve Harden on another team. Philly is currently +650 to advance to the NBA Finals.
