The Los Angeles Dodgers have continued adding pieces as they look to make a run at a World Series, acquiring pitchers Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly from the Chicago White Sox.

At 58-43, the Dodgers currently hold a three-game lead in the National League West and have already added infielders Enrique Hernandez and Amed Rosario in recent trades.
Lynn will bring a much-needed veteran arm to the rotation, although he has had a disastrous season so far. Currently 6-9 with a 6.47 ERA, Lynn was the American League leader in hits allowed, runs allowed and home runs allowed before being dealt to the Dodgers.
He has also shown flashes of dominance with four starts with 10 or more strikeouts on the season, including a 16-strikeout performance against the Seattle Mariners on June 18.

Lynn and the Dodgers will both hope he can benefit from a change of scenery with the move to Los Angeles.
Kelly is a familiar face and a fan favorite after spending 2019-21 with the Dodgers. His 1-5 record and 4.97 ERA don't look great on paper but he has been a solid arm out of the bullpen.
With a bad month of July, he has seen that ERA rise to where it is after being at 3.81 over the first three months of the season.

In return for Lynn and Kelly the Dodgers will be sending outfielder Trayce Thompson and Double-A pitchers Nick Nastrini and Jordan Leasure to the White Sox.
