The Los Angeles Dodgers are loaded with All-Star caliber players; however, after their outfield depth was a slight problem last season, they addressed the corner positions by re-signing Teoscar Hernández and acquiring free agent Michael Conforto. Conforto will reportedly platoon in right field and signed a one-year, $17 million contract this offseason.
Tommy Edman was also resigned to potentially take center field along with Andy Pages if he were to make the roster.
According to a Bleacher Report article by Zachary Rymer, Conforto is a player who has the potential to have a bounce-back season and revive his stardom.
"Bounce back" is a loose term because Conforto did hit 20 home runs in 2024 and posted a .759 OPS in 130 games with the San Francisco Giants.
Nonetheless, the Dodgers have a knack for turning players around and getting the most out of them, so it wouldn't be surprising if Conforto has another All-Star level season like he did with the New York Mets in 2017. It will depend largely on the number of games he plays, but if he is out there mainly facing right-handed pitchers, the ability is there.
Conforto battled an injury in 2022, which saw his production dip a little bit in 2023 and 2024 with the Giants. Sometimes, a change of scenery benefits veteran players like Conforto, who have proved they can produce at the big league level.
