Dodgers' Blake Snell Makes Concerning Announcement Amid Arm Injury

It isn't too surprising that left-hander Blake Snell has dealt with an injury for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Snell, dealing with a shoulder injury, is expected to be back sometime in the near future.

However, until he returns, there will be questions about what the Dodgers will do moving forward with him on the IL. Do they want to be safe? Do they feel they need to rush him back due to some of the other injuries they've faced?

Well, all signs point to the Dodgers being smart with this, and Snell understands better than anyone that he's needed in this rotation if Los Angeles wants to be the team it's looking to be.

“I just want to pitch,” he said, per Dodger Blue. “Am I worried about it? No. I was worried about it when I went on the IL but not anymore. It feels way better.”

Dave Roberts revealed that the Dodgers will be smart with what they do and will allow him to come back slowly if that's what he needs.

“I think that’s contingent on how long he’s down,” Roberts said last week. “The longer, the more possibility. If it’s on the shorter side, then probably not. … It hasn’t been that long, so if he can get back and feel good, frisky, then we can move it quicker. And if not, then we’ve got to slow-play him.”

Snell has dealt with a few injuries throughout his career, but has been excellent during his first few outings with the Dodgers, posting a 2.00 ERA in 9.0 innings.

His strikeout numbers were down in his first few outings, but this was nearly the same old Snell that the Dodgers were hoping for, which is all that matters for now until the injury gets an update.
